Wen Biae

Boredom struck me, so I browsed through YouTube looking for something interesting to put in my Friendster when I remember a Mandarin song that I love sooo much till I even bought the cassette and tried to memorise the song word by word.

Correct me if I’m wrong, it was Wen Biae (sorry if the spelling isn’t right) and according to my Chinese friends back at secondary school, in English is Kiss and Say Goodbye. Knowing the singer is Jackie Cheung, typed his name and fortunately it was added by someone…uhhh lucky me.

Here’s the music video and sorry if it’s the karaoke version…blek! =P

Jacky Cheung - Goodbye Kiss

About this song, being Malay, I did not know what has come over me to be interested in a song which the language I don’t understand at all. Could it be the music background since those days I like orchestra style music especially the pioneers (Mozart and the gang) & London Symphony Orchestra. I myself tried to play the keyboard but was kind of lazy to practice….hehehe…by the way I play by ear. I actually appreciate more towards the music background than the voice itself.

For example Rock, the way a person plucks/strums the guitar plus the mixed drum beats. Trance, mix and synthesize sounds with smooth vibes that makes body and soul move to the rhythm. Sorry if I only mention Rock and Trance since both are my current favourites music genre.

Talking about Wen Biae, I always ask myself what is Jacky trying to say in his music and thankfully Wye Luon who is a classmate of mine in form 4 Ramin helped me to understand. I ask for the translated lyric and as usual I tried to memorize it by heart. I can remember the chorus except the rest but now the only thing I remember is “We he nie wen biae zhai wu ren de jiae, wo pu ……errrrrrr….ayakkk…forgot oledi!”

It felt kind of weird buying the cassette (if I remembered correctly is has lots of colours with cloth texture pictures) when I myself don’t read Mandarin. About a year ago, Hau Yi borrowed my cassette but she couldn’t hear it well. It was an old cassette and of course you could hear the screeching sound…ouch the pain!. The cassette in now in dumpster heaven nevertheless the tunes are always in my head.

Hmmm…whats was the wolf song in Mandarin????

Cozens at RASTA

Yesterday night my family had their berbuka puasa at Pak Nyah's house in Subang Jaya with most of the Kushairi Clan family members staying around KL and PJ area. The theme was pot luck so everyone brought their own lauk pauks, kuih muihs and deserts. It felt like a dinner worth RM80 per head buffet with dishes ranging from roast chicken, fish head curry (two large heads indeed..nyum), mixed vegetables, popiah, Secret Recipe cakes and many more.

With the provided table and chairs at the lawn, cozens from the rank of ‘long’ and ‘ngah’ sat outside and chatted about things such as the separation of Singapore and Malaysia, Siti Nurhaliza’s wedding…errr..and other sensitive issues revolving around race and religion. So I told them about Jelutong having its own Shisha stall and Shinaz gave me a craving look. Shinaz actually lurvessss Shisha so much that she can actually order a set for her ownself……wickedddd!

I as usual being joking about certain things told them “Hey after this lets go for some Shisha”. Najwa was like alright with it but Shinaz kept quiet….hmm is she thinking of something….mmmm.

After a duration of 5 hours spent at my uncle’s house, everyone decided is time to go back home, as my car passed by the house, Shinaz and Nadia gave me hand gestures which I certainly understood. The message was like “Call us or we call you for an outing tonight anywhere as long there is Shisha”. Feeling tired, me and Amir decided to keep quiet and not to call them out. Upon reaching home sweet home, Nadia called my hp and told us the cozens are going out for a Shisha session. I was a bit surprise, looking at the time it was 11.30 pm and wondering how come they are able to convince their parents to go out this late since the youngest among them was 16 years old.

Since it has been a long time we never had a cozen get together, I agree with Nadia and told them to meet at Rasta in TTDI. Most of the time, we usually hang out in Hartamas but knowing it was football night, the place is expected to be packed. Me, Amir and Ariff decided to go first and reserve the seats for the rest of the cozens.

We got ourselves a good spot and favourites such as waffle, Shisha and western food was all close by to our table. Usually the cozens will consists only 5 to 7 members but last night was an additional of 3 people. As usual we ordered our drinks and food ranging from waffles, French fries, roti bakar, tea drinks with different flavours and a lot of warm water. I felt like a rich man that night so I decided to treat everyone’s drinks and Shisha except for the food…hekhekhek.

Continued our discussion from Pak Nyah’s house and puffing Shisha like there was no tomorrow. We had two Shisha flavours (grape and strawberry) but somehow the taste wasn’t as ‘kaw’ as Hartamas and Jelutong. Nadia told the stall owner to add some more ‘arang’ and later on only it felt like the real thing.

Sitting with cousins who are mostly gurls, tv dramas such as Entourage and One Tree Hill was also part of the discussion. Najwa who is an avid follower of these shows told us spoilers and what are we going to expect on the following seasons.

We had lots of fun and was kind of wuzzy with all the excellent food and Shisha puffing. Time was 2.30 am and so we decided to go back home since most of us needs to wake up at 5.00 am for sahur.

Bid farewell and everyone drives back home while hoping to see each other again during Hari Raya.

Apple Mint Shisha

Yesterday my friend Zaime came back from Penang and invited the gang for a night out perhaps berbuka or just enjoy ourselves at a mamak restaurant and some cyber gaming. At the end decided that everyone to berbuka at home and to leave our houses after 8.30 pm and meet up at Mohsin located nearby the Pizza Hut restaurant at TTDI.

We had a few chats and Nazri passed me six sets of green angpau from his workplace to be used for the coming Hari Raya. The only thing left now is to find an appropriate time to go to the bank and get myself some small notes.

After Mohsin, we went to Blitzone in DJ to play WC3:DoTA but as usual the place was pack considering it was 10.15 pm. While we waited, restless I became and decided to scout other cybercafés if there are any available seats. Walking down the path of shop houses, I pass by NetMaster and empty seats were everywhere. Called rest of the gang and started our gaming session of 2 verses 2 or be joined by those around us.

Throughout the game, everything was running smoothly till the network starts to lag and this is not even a BattleNet session. Nazri recreated the game as a host and it was all better onwards till we left the place at about 12.15 am. And again we went for yumchar at a mamak restaurant near my old secondary school. To our surprise, we saw two Shisha sets and from our knowledge since when Jelutong has its own Shisha stall.

We sat near the road which is a common typical mindset for most of us Malaysians and ordered our drinks. The last time I had Shisha was in Hartamas and it was sooooo way back in October 2005. Called for the waiter and ask him what kind of Shisha flavours that they offer. He gave as a blur face like he doesn’t understand what we were trying to say so Nazri gave him a slow talk, word by word and the waiter said “Orange Juice?”. We laughed but was not that loud considering his situation.

Zaime went to the cashier area and talk to the person in-charge and he called the Shisha stall owner to attend us. It was a young guy and he looks sort of familiar like someone that I’ve seen before in secondary school. Anyway he provided the menu and suggested us to try the Apple Mint flavour. We agreed to try it out and Anri was the only one not keen on this sort of past time pleasures.

For the first two round, I inhaled quite a lot of smoke that it made my head felt lighter as I sway left and right like a person who is about to faint. Able to control my awareness, I manage to stay alert and continued to enjoy the pleasures of Shisha…..knowing I was in a hazy environment…hahaha. It was a haze week for Malaysia and the morning rain made no difference whatsoever to the haze condition.

Anri inform us about his birthday and decided to treat us dinner at Canadian Pizza located within TTDI on this Saturday. We couldn’t confirm on the spot and so we all decided to inform him by Friday.

We salamz and went back to our homes for a nice nap.

Anyone for a game of cards?

It has been 2 months since I played Urban Rivals and chat with all sorts or characters and nationalities. Especially those from France and Italy where I had to use Altavista’s Babel Fish Translation in order to understand what they are trying to say. Somehow it seems all translation softwares or websites works in a different manner according from where it came from.

For example, I have a French friend or should I say rival who does not type English that well and uses Voila-Traduction to translate what he is trying to say. He might end up saying “are how you”…sounds funny right? Being myself as usual, I will try to help him improve and in return a proper lesson in certain French words...hehehe

I actually have another blog dedicated to this addiction of mine and it is called Citizens of Urban Rivals. Originally the purpose of creating this blog is just for self-satisfactory and to help those who might want to know about Urban Rivals more while wondering the cyberspace.

To my surprise it was listed in Urban Rivals official website under Fan Sites together with Citizen Kane’s blog. My blog was still in its initial stage with not so much info and I thought people will mostly read Kane’s rather than mine. When already two people gave their comment, it shows something even the number looks small. Now I actually have a purpose complete this part-time/hobby of mine.

Just need to reformat my comp as soon as possible…grrrrr.
